The
"House of Blues Poker Room" at Showboat Atlantic
City opened in the summer of 2005. The 25-table poker
room is decorated in signature House of Blues style
and is located on the second floor at Showboat, next
to the elevators and across from the new House of Blues
music hall.
The
Showboat is one of four Harrah's Entertainment properties
in Atlantic City. Showboat - The Mardi Gras Casino,
located at Delaware Avenue and the Boardwalk, opened
April 3, 1987 and features 1,309 rooms, including the
544-room, $90 million hotel tower which opened in May
2003. Many of the 59 suites offer breathtaking ocean
views. Besides the House of Blues restaurant, there
are 9 other eateries, several that fit in the the Showboat's
overall New Orleans theme.
If you're a believer in the theories
of Arnold Snyder from his book "The
Poker Tournament Formula", the daily tournaments
at Showboat are the best in Atlantic City for playing
using his strategies for "fast" tournaments.
The Showboat tournaments are actually classified as
"medium" speed by his system and have the
right mix of luck and skill to work best with Snyder's
methods.
